Challenge:

How do you capture the energy of a song with only words?In her single, "Do It Alone", Chloe Howl tells the story of almost being the other woman in a relationship. Knowingly being with a man in a relationship is something she considers one of the ultimate crimes against girl code, and this song addresses that dynamic.

Outcome:

A Motion-Type Lyric Video that accurately reflects the lyrics and the song as a whole.

Before illustrating, I story-boarded every composition to get an idea of how each scene will transition to the next. Immediately I noticed that the song has many high and low points. It goes from a slow pace leading up to a banger of a chorus. In addition, the lyrics are very descriptive, allowing for more imagery with the typography.

I then took it into Illustrator, later importing it into After Effects for animation.
